Summary
This is the first course of the first-year triple sequence in Macroeconomics.
The focus of this course is on the foundations of modern macroeconomic analysis using dynamic models. It introduces core tools such as recursive methods, infinite-horizon models, and competitive equilibria. It also discusses welfare implications of market outcomes. The main topics include economic growth and sustainability, including climate change.
